"Here is the Town Center. It's always a busy, exciting place and a great spot to meet friends... or be a Tour Guide!"

The Town (or Town Center) is the main area in Club Penguin. The Town is usually the congregation point of many penguins as it is the first area that penguins join unless there are one hundred penguins already in the Town, in which case it will flood off into other places like the Plaza, the Snow Forts, etc.

History

Early history

The Town Center was first established in 877 AD and inhabited by a tribe of snails. After the Great Blizzard, the snails migrated to warmer lands.

Penguin Chat 3

The Town was originally opened on March 31st, 2005, as the main room in Penguin Chat 3.

Club Penguin

The Town was opened on Club Penguin beta testing. It received a new look in December 6, 2012 along with Beach, Clothes Shop, Dock, Plaza, Ski Village and Snow Forts. Polo Field announced that it will be the first room available on the mobile application. The Town was closed on Club Penguin's shutdown, on March 29th, 2017.

Features

The Town has no games but it is an easy way to access the Coffee Shop, Night Club, Snow Forts, Dock and Clothes Shop. It is also usually well-decorated for parties. Like most outdoor rooms, Fire, Water and Snow Ninjas may control the weather depending on their numbers.

Medieval Party 2011	Welcome hither to the Town Center! Here ye can relax at Ye Olden Coffee Shop.. ...dance at the Knight Club... or buy gowns from the Gift Shop.
Music Jam 2011	Here's the Town Center! Try jamming outside... or play a show in the Coffee Shop. If you feel like busting a move... hit up the Night Club. Then there's the Gift Shop... stop there for new rock outfits!
Island Adventure Party 2011	This is the Town! Here you can enjoy a coffeee... dance a jig at the Night Club... and buy the best clothing items for adventuring... from the Gift Shop!
The Fair 2011	Welcome to the Town Center. Make your own magic show! Or cheer for your favorite performers! Watch me make this cream soda disappear!
Halloween Party 2011	Here's the Town Center! Let's check out the Gift Shop... and choose our costumes. The scarier the better!
Card-Jitsu Party 2011	Here's the Town! Looks like some Fire Ninjas have decorated it! We could go to the Coffee Shop for a hot drink... or start a ninja dance-off in the Night Club! Need some ninja gear? We can get some at the Gift Shop next door.
Holiday Party 2011	Here's the Town! Warm up with some cocoa from the Coffee Shop... help at Santa's workshop in the Night Club... or find holiday fashions in the Gift Shop!
Underwater Expedition	Here we have the Town Center. Luckily, nothing seems to have rolled away... so feel free to shop, dance and order coffee... just watch your step.
Puffle Party 2012	Welcome to the Town Center! This is often the first place you visit. If Club Penguin is having a party... this room is usually well decorated for it.
Earth Day 2012	Here we are in the Town Center. We're currently celebrating Earth Day... so take a waddle through the icy gate... to check out an amazing wildlife habitat!
Medieval Party 2012 (before Scorn is defeated)	This is the Kingdom of Club Penguin. The land is in great danger... we live in the shadow of a ruthless monster... Scorn, the Dragon King! Chosen heroes! You must save us all... by finding the three magical items... The Fairy Branch, the Spheres of Starlight, and the Cursed Stones! Check your quest map to begin your journey
Medieval Party 2012 (after Scorn is defeated)	This is the Kingdom of Club Penguin. The land is safe once again... Scorn, the Dragon King is defeated! Make Your Mark: Ultimate Jam	Word up peeps! The party's shakin' up the Town! The Coffee Shop's got coffee... The Night Club's got jams... And the Gift Shop's got styles. Check it!
Adventure Party: Temple of Fruit	This is the Town! Here you can enjoy a coffee... dance a jig at the Night Club... and buy the best clothing items for adventuring... from the Gift Shop!

Muppets World Tour	This is England. Look at the landmarks like the Museum. Where you can see... an exhibit of valuable items and you can pick up new clothes. If you need a rest, sit down for a nice cuppa tea.
Music Jam 2014	Surf's up at the Town! Bust a move at the Shimmy Shack. Get a smoothie before you hit the surf... or shop the latest in beachwear.
Pirate Party 2014	Arrrr! This be the place for shore leave! It be the Town. Do a jig at the Dance Club... or grab a bandana at the Clothes Shop!
Merry Walrus Party	Merry Walrus! Tis the season for giving. Join the festivities and new traditions. And don't forget to donate coins... at the CFC donation stations!
Star Wars Rebels Takeover	Welcome to the market... you might find meiloorun fruit... or you could grab a drink... at Javva the Hutt.

Trivia

• For nine years, the Town was one of the few rooms that doesn't house pins, as it is the most active room in Club Penguin: hence, all users would find the pin immediately. However, during the 10th Anniversary Party, the Anniversary Balloons pin (ID 7248) was the first pin to be hidden in Town.
• The Town is 2 miles away from the Plaza and the Beach and is 4 miles away from the Cove.
• A background based on the original Town was released during the 8th Anniversary Party, named This Old Town.
• On June 11th 2015, the Town got music from Operation: Puffle, this could be temporary or not.
