Gadzooks! Captain Rockhopper has washed up on shore, and he’s discombobulated! That means he’s a little out of it. I’ll construct a gadget to help him.

— Gary

The Inside Out Party was a sponsored party in Club Penguin inspired by the 2015 Disney Pixar animated film Inside Out. In both versions of the game, it started on July 22, 2015; it ended on August 5, 2015 (in online version) and on August 19, 2015 (in mobile version).

Members were able to transform into Bing Bong and Rainbow Unicorn and collect Inside Out costumes for Anger, Disgust, Fear, Joy, and Sadness.

History

First hint of the party appeared in the June 2015 Calendar where the June 29 cell labeled “July party announcement” contained a chat bubble with an emoticon similar to Joy from the film. The connection wasn’t, however, very clear until the game files for the party were discovered on June 4, 2015 by Riyita of the Club Penguin Space blog.[1][2] On June 13, Rockhopper’s message was published in the issue 503 of Club Penguin Times and another messages appeared in issues 504 and 505. It was officially announced on June 27[3], even though the announcement was planned for June 29 in the Calendar.

In-game development

After the Pirate Party 2014, Captain Rockhopper left the island to build a new Migrator, we received three letters from him.

He ventured on a new voyage but unfortunately it stretched longer than he expected and soon he ran out of Stinky Cheese. Luckily his treasure map directed him to nearby island which should hold various ancient treasures including the fabled Wheel of Potent Cheese.

When he arrived on the island, he had to continue to the top of a mountain. It was far too high for any proper pirate, not that he would be afraid of heights or anything but the lust for the treasure prevailed.

He found the treasure chest with the cheese and being hungry he decided to eat the whole wheel at once. The map told the cheese to be cursed but he dismissed it as a story to scare away pirates and mice. Coming back to Migrator, he started feeling a bit odd but he was set to sail anyway.

After few weeks he returned to Club penguin disoriented.

Gary built the Minderizer 3000, a device players can use to wander in Rockhopper’s mind and help him find his lost core memories. There are five core memories including joy, sadness, anger, disgust and fear. Players can explore the discovery of Yarr for joy, the time when Stinky Cheese ran out for sadness, the hijacking of the Migrator for anger, eating a seaweed sandwich for disgust, and being afraid of heights for fear.
